The Chanda Lab is a passionate, multidisciplinary team exploring the fundamental mechanisms of ion channel function. Our research focuses on the structural and functional principles of voltage-gated ion channels, aiming to uncover how they work, how they malfunction in diseases like arrhythmias and epilepsy, and how we can engineer solutions.

Using cutting-edge electrophysiology, high-resolution structural analysis, and single-molecule fluorescence methods, we tackle key questions: How do ion channels sense temperature? What drives voltage-gating? How do they respond to ligands? By integrating structure, function, and dynamics, we strive to develop innovative therapeutics and bioengineered channels with novel properties.
